Getting started

How do I pair with my partner?

After signing up, open Settings → Pair, or visit the Pair tab. You'll get a short invite code to send to your partner. They enter it on their Pair screen and you're linked. Pairing sets up the end-to-end encrypted channel between your two devices.

Can I use the app solo before my partner joins?

Yes. You can explore features, set up your profile, and prepare content. Shared features (chat, gallery, games together) activate once you're paired.

Which devices are supported?

Any modern browser on phone, tablet, or desktop. The app is a PWA — you can add it to your home screen for a full-screen, app-like experience.

Account & billing

How do I change my password?

Go to Settings → Account. Changing your password re-wraps your private key with the new password, so you'll stay signed in across devices seamlessly. If you've forgotten it, use /forgot-password and your recovery code.

How do I cancel or change my plan?

Open Settings → Billing. You can switch plans or cancel at any time. Cancellation is effective at the end of the current period — your content stays encrypted and accessible throughout.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Privacy → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your profile, messages, posts, keys, and shared content are wiped. Your partner is unpaired. We cannot recover anything afterwards.

Privacy & security

What does end-to-end encrypted actually mean here?

Your private key is generated on your device, wrapped with a key derived from your password (PBKDF2, 600k iterations), and never leaves your device unwrapped. Messages, media, and shared content are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using keys exchanged via ECDH P-256. The server stores ciphertext only.

What GDPR rights do I have?

Access, rectification, erasure, portability, and withdrawal of consent. You can export everything from Settings → Privacy → Export, or delete your account entirely. We track consent in a dedicated record and honor requests promptly.

Do you use analytics or third-party trackers?

No. Zero analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, no third-party pixels. The only third-party calls are the ones strictly needed for the service to function.

Recovery code

What is the recovery code — and do I need it to sign in?

No — you sign in with your password like any app. The recovery code is a backup shown once at signup that independently wraps your private key. You only need it if you ever forget your password. Save it offline, then don't think about it again until you need it.

I lost my recovery code. Can you reset my password?

Yes — we can reset your password via the email flow. But without the recovery code we cannot unwrap your private key, so previously encrypted content (messages, media) becomes unreadable. This is by design: if we could decrypt it, anyone with access to our database could too. That's what end-to-end encryption means.

How do I use the recovery code?

Go to Sign in → Forgot password → 'I have my recovery code'. Enter your email and the code, set a new password, and you're back in with all your encrypted content intact.
